“To Know Him and To Make Him Known.”
Evangelist Darice E. Whitted
Assistant Pastor, Christian Education
Greetings in Christ!
My name is Darice Whitted, and I love uplifting and empowering the people of God through the teaching and preaching ministries. A love for God’s word was planted in my heart as an adolescent through many faithful teachers in the Sunday School Department, one of whom was my father, Mr. William Herron. I gave my life to Christ as a youth, and believed Him to be my Lord and Savior.
I answered the call to the ministry in 1996 and my family joined Victory in 2005. Here at Victory I serve as a Director of Women’s Ministry (W.O.V.E.N.), a member of the Ministerial Alliance, the Finance Ministry, and the Deacon Ministry. Along with my husband Michael, we are Couples’ Small Group Leaders, and presenters with the Family First Ministry.
I am a retired special educator with thirty-five years of experience in teaching, professional development, and teacher training. I hold degrees in Elementary Education and Master Degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration. In addition, I am a graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a Master Degree in Applied Biblical Studies. In April 1974, I was initiated into Eta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Affectionately known as the “Cake Lady,” I enjoy blessing others with homemade cakes, cupcakes, and cinnamon rolls. My other hobbies include reading and studying the Bible, entertaining, and decorating for the Christmas holidays.
My husband Michael and I have enjoyed a blessed marriage for over forty years, and are the parents of two adult children, Amber and Kyle, and the proud grandparents of six. I credit my family as the “wind beneath my wings.”
