Reverend Jimmie D. Carpenter Sr

Assistant Pastor, Visitation Ministry

“Be still, and know that I am God…” ~ Psalm 46:10

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

I am Jimmie D. Carpenter Sr. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Wendell Phillips High school. I graduated from the United States Army Sergeants’ Major Academy; I earned a Master Degree in Urban Ministries and a Masters in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

I am grateful for God’s servants who planted or watered seeds of faith in God into me, but most of all I am grateful to God for making them grow. I praise God for all who encouraged me to follow my desire to learn the Bible, and my Army motor sergeant in Frankfurt Germany who shared with me Romans 12:1-2. I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and God filled me with His Holy Spirit.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.” John 14:6. I believe Jesus is the way and the Bible is our map.

The Lord sent Ida McReynolds to Frankfurt, West Germany for me to meet. We were married when we returned to the United States and blessed with a son and daughter. Blessings overflowed when we gained a daughter-in-love and twin granddaughters that enjoy doing things with us. I enjoy spending time with my family travelling, playing games, singing, and working with wood.

My family and I served at the Apostolic Church of God from 1980 – 1998. We transferred our membership to Victory Apostolic Church where I served as Minister, Deacon, and teacher. I presently serve as Assistant Pastor over the visitation ministry.

My life scripture is: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 KJV)
