In honor of Memorial day, the Senior Luncheon for May 2024 was dedicated to honoring our military. Like always, our Director, Sis. Beeonca Smith and Asst. Director, Sis. Linda Tatum did an outstanding job! We were able to obtain the flags in honor of the six military branches. Some of the seniors and volunteers supported by wearing some form of camouflage. This was an awesome turnout! The food that was catered by Chef John Griffis Catering, which fed 128 people, which included the volunteers, office staff, and maintenance.
Our speaker for this event was Deacon Maurice Lofton. Asst. Pastor Jimmie Carpenter was on program to give a powerful testimony regarding his military service. Some of the seniors testified of the goodness of God! We were also blessed to have Cadets from one of the south suburban high school. I currently don’t have the name of the school. As a result of their participation, they were later presented certificates from Assistant Pastors Samuel Lofton and Jimmie Carpenter.
